제목 Optimization of polymer coating process using ultrasonic spray and drug release kinetics from sirolimus-eluting stent
초록 Polymer nanocoating process by ultrasonic sprays including ultrasonic atomization systems has well known as one of the technologies for surface coatings of implantable devices. In order to control the roughness and thickness of PLLA and PLGA coated on stainless steel substrates, the ultrasonic spray method was utilized. This method has enabled the operation of coating conditions such as vibration frequency, gas pressure, and the concentration of reagent solution to regulate the droplet size of spray and coating time. Generally, sirolimus (SRL) has known to prevent tissue hyperplasia following vascular injury and has been considered as a drug for the prevention of restenosis. For fabrication of a drug-eluting system using SRL, the solution of SRL-loaded PLGA was coated onto the metal types of spring & stent using ultrasonic spray. Cumulative release amounts of SRL were measured using both HPLC and UV spectrometer. The thickness and morphology of the samples were confirmed by FE-SEM.
