제목 Visualization of pore size effect on cell growth in scaffolds using a pore size gradient scaffold
초록 It is well recognized that the pore size of polymer scaffolds plays an important role for cell: different kinds of cells were shown to have different optimal pore size ranges in the scaffolds for effective cell growth. So, if the scaffold with pore size gradient can be prepared, it will become a powerful tool for basic studies of the interaction between tissue cells and scaffolds with different pore size. In our previous study, we fabricated cylindrical scaffold with gradually increasing pore size along the longitudinal direction by a novel centrifugation method. The pore size ranges of the scaffold could be easily controlled by adjusting the centrifugal force. It was observed that the cells were shown to have different pore size ranges in scaffolds for effective cell growth. In this study, the cell growth behaviors (in vitro; chondrocytes, osteoblasts and fibroblasts) were visualized by histological observations in terms of scaffold pore sizes by using a pore size gradient scaffold.
