Fluorescent Silicone Particles for Multiplex Assay |

Silicone particles with diameter of 5 micrometers were prepared and amine groups were incorporated on to their surfaces by treating with aminoalkyalkoxysilanes. The presence of amines groups on the surface were confirmed by the fluorescent light emitted after treating the particles with FITC and RITC. Particles with smaller sizes doped with different fluorophores were also prepared and their fluorescent behaviors were examined. Particles prepared in this study may replace polystyrene beads that are currently used in Luminex multiplex assay system. |
