Thermal and Rheological Properties of Poly(lactic acid) Modified by Electron Beam Irradiation |

In this study, we tried to find the effect of electron beam irradiation on the thermal and rheological properties of PLA for the ultimate aim of increasing processability. The pure PLA and PLA containing functional monomer were electron beam irradiated at room temperature. The thermal properties of irradiated PLA were measured by using DSC. The complex viscosity and log G' vs. log G" plot among dynamic rheological properties were chosen for comparison. Thermal and rheological studies, we can found that PLA is very sensitive to electron beam and the processability of PLA can be increased by addition of functional monomer before irradiation. |
