Nano-sized Fe oxide particles were grafted on the surface of TiO2 by using facile surfactant-assisted preparation method. After calcination at 450 ºC, the crystal structures were hematite and anatase mixed phase. The thickness of Fe oxide shell could be controlled by changing the concentration Fe salt and the stable shell could be formed by using CTAB. Fe oxide shells with a range of thickness from 100 to 200 nm could be formed on the TiO2 surface. As the higher concentration of Fe salt was added into the TiO2 colloid, the Fe oxide shell became thicker. The composite were analyzed by using TEM, EDS, XRD, XPS, and VSM. |
