The polythiophene nanowires have been prepared by electropolymerization inside the nanoholes in polystyrene-block-poly(methylmethacrylate) copolymer (PS-b-PMMA) copolymer templates on transparent ITO-coated glass. Three different kinds of polythiophenes, poly(2,2’-bithiophene), poly(3,4-dioxyethylenethiophene), and poly(3-hexylthiophene), known as excellent candidates as p-type polymer for the photovoltaic devices, were prepared from the solution consisting of each monomer in LiClO4/propylene carbonate or Bu4NPF6/dichloromethane. The growth of polythiophene nanowires inside the nanoholes was monitored from the amperometry (current-time curve). Electrical and optical properties of polythiophene nanowires were examined by cyclic voltammetry and UV-vis-NIR spectroscopy. |
