제목 CO2 adsorption on Li/ Na-promoted surface of binary oxide solid-solution, MO-MO (M = Mg, Ca, Sr and Ba)
초록 Searching for promising solid sorbents for carbon dioxide (CO2) capture has been conducted for many years. MgO is one of the remarkable alkaline-earth metal oxides for carbon capture due to its abundance, low cost, and the low heat of absorption [1]. However, MgO does not have high adsorption capacity of CO2 [2]. On the other hand, CaO is another promising candidate for CO2 removal in industrial applications because of its low cost and high CO2 capture capacity [3]. In this work, we investigated CO2 adsorption on (100) surface of Li or Na-promoted solid-solution of binary oxides, using density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Firstly, we calculated the CO2 adsorption energies on (100) surface of solid-solution, such as MgO-CaO, CaO-SrO and SrO-BaO. Secondly, the effect of these Li and Na promoters on the CO2 adsorption on these surfaces were examined.
