Porous organic polymers (POPs) is the one of emerging materials constructed from molecular building blocks including reactive organic functional groups. Here, we present two synthetic methods and compare properties of the perylene based covalent triazine polyimides (PDA-TPI, PDA-MW-TPI). A PDA-TPI was synthesized by a polyimidization reaction of tris(4-aminophenyl)-1,3,5-triazine (TAPT) and the perylene-3,4,9,10-tetracarboxylic dianhydride in quinoline. Strong Brønsted acids are known to catalyze the trimerization of nitriles. A PDA-MW-TPI was synthesized by using perylene precursor with nitrile and trifluoromethanesulfonic acid (TFMSA) as the catalyst at a moderate temperature under microwave-assisted conditions. A variety of analyses were conducted to investigate diffrences in properties between two products. |
