It has been reported that plasma treatments are to modify surface properties of materials such as adhesivity, hydrophliicity and hydrophobicity. Especially, great attention has been shown to the uestion of plasma technic. In this study, surface modification of fiber, glass and PMMA with high water-repellency and super-hydrophobic was obtained by plasma polymerization coating. Materials with water-repellency was treated with atmospheric pressure RF plasma system using Ar and hexamethyldisiloxane (HMDSO)/Toluene. There is a marked contrast between HMDSO and HMDSO/Toluene. The contact angle of HMDSO and HMDSO/Toluene show 120degree and 150degree, respectively. The surface morphologies of plasma treated fiber were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The chemical composition of the polymer surface analyzed. fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectrometry and X-ray Photoemission Spectroscopy(XPS). |
