Synthesis of TiO2/Fe3O4/metal nanohybrids for ecofriendly water treatment |

There are various water treatment technologies, among them, the photocatalyst can be applied anywhere with light, but the photocatalyst have been obtain excellent results only under the UV. So we report a simple and mild method for synthesis of TiO2/Fe3O4/metal nanohybrids. They can be activated under the visible light and reused. When we synthesized the nanohybrids, the synthesis process proceeded in two steps. First, TiO2/Fe3O4 nanohybrids were synthesized with TiO2, PEG, hexylamine, water and Fe(ClO4)2 at the reaction temperature of 95℃ in air atmosphere. Second, Pd or Pt nanoparticles were adhered on them using the metal precursor. These nanohybrids were analyzed by Transmission electron microscope(TEM) and X-ray diffraction(XRD) and measured their photocatalytic properties by UV-vis spectrophotometer. |
