Biodiesel Production from Carbon Dioxide by Photosynthetic Microalgae |
| 초록 |
Microalgae commonly double their biomass within 24 h and some even can double as short as 3.5 h at optimal condition. Oil content in microalgae can exceed 70% by weight of dry biomass biomass productivity in photobioreactors. We have tested the possibility of applying microalgae for biological CO2 sequestration. Some microalgal species such as Botryococcus braunii and Chlorella emersonii appear to be attractive solution for CO2 sequestration. Statistical optimization of culture conditions and engineering optimization for CO2 sequestration will be reported. |
