제목 | Macroscopic Nonlinear Optical Property of Tricyanopyrrolidene Chromophores containing Amorphous Polycarbonate: Effect of Molecular Kink Moiety in the Conjugative Structure |
초록 | Organic nonlinear optical (NLO) materials provide strong potential advantages for second harmonic generation and electro-optic application and are considered as most promising candidates for application in electro-optic and photonic devices. In this study, tricyano-pyrrolidene chromophores were synthesized as key materials for thin-film electro-optic (EO) device. These molecules were prepared in order to compare their macroscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) properties with the conjugated structure through long molecular axis. Thiophene or phenyl ring was tethered to the conjugated ethylenic bond, playing as a kink moiety to disrupt the planarity of the chromophore slightly. Real time pole and probe method was employed to investigate the change of the EO signal during poling.
