Mechnical and barrier properties of Polyketone nanocomposites with various contents of carbon based nanofillers were studied in this work. The dispersion of the nanofillers in composites was characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). As a consequence of the good dispersion of nanoparticles in composites, elastic modulus, tensile strength and the glass transition temperature increased with increasing nanoplates concentration while Impact strength decreased with loading. Oxygen and water vapor transmission rates were also measured. The result shows that permeation rates of O2 and water vapor through films of Polyketone nanocomposites were lower than pure polyketone, which decreased with increasing concentrations of nonoplatelets. |
