Hydrogen-bond-mediated molecular recognition in water is a topic with high relevance to biological systems. To realize the stable complexation between the receptor and the target, the elaboration for maintaining the binding affinity should be necessary to compensate the inhibition of the bond formation by hydration. In the presentation, we show the influence of the chemical structures of the ligand on the binding affinity with POSS networks containing specific ligands and nucleobases (G, C, A,and U). POSS networks can enhance the binding affinity of the molecular recognition via hydrogen bonds between the designed ligands and the nucleobases. The complexation of POSS networks with the series of nucleobases were investigated. We demonstrate that the designed ligands can selectively recognize the triphosphate nucleobases by assisting with the POSS networks. |
