제목 Synthesis and Characterizations of Waterborne Polyurethane/Silica Nanocomposites using Coupling Agent
초록 The replacement of organic solvent by water is an effective way for the reduction of VOC. So waterborne polyurethanes have been actively studied recently to overcome certain properties which are inferior to those of solvent-based PUs. In recent years, the investigation of organic-inorganic nanocomposites has become a very important field since such materials often exhibit synergistic properties derived from two components.
In this study, to make high performance waterbome PUs, we introduced nanocomposites from nanometer-scale silica into waterborne PUs. The waterborne PUs were synthesized from isophoronediisocyanate(IPDI), poly(tetramethyleneglycol)(PTMG), dimethylolpropionic acid(DMPA), triethylamine(TEA) and diethylenetriamine(DETA). And in order to improve the miscibility between PU and silica, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane as coupling agent was also used. For fabrication of nanocomposite materials, silica was incorporated with PU prepolymer under high shear.
We studied thermal and mechanical properties with dynamic mechenical thermal analyzer (DMTA), thermal gravimetric analyzer(TGA), tensile tester and so on.
