Synthesis of Bismuth Telluride(Bi2Te3) nanoparticles by solvothermal method |

Bismuth telluride(Bi2Te3) and its based alloys are known as thermoelectric materials for applications in cooling and power generation because they have the highest thermoelectric figure of merit known at room temperature. To improve thermoelectric figure of merit that one-dimensional tubular structure so as to control the movement of electrons for the electronic properties and phonons for the thermal properties. Bi2Te3 nanotubes were synthesized using a template method that involved the interdiffusion of Bi and Te atoms on the surface of Te nanotubes, which served as templates. The microstructure of Bi2Te3 nanotubes was mainly determined by the microstructure of Te templates. The structural characteristic of Te templates were influenced by the condition of reduction, also a type of capping agent and solvent. |
