제목 Cathode-Solid electrolyte interfacial analysis and design for all-solid-state batteries
초록 All-solid-state batteries (ASSBs) have potentially high volumetric energy density thanks to the usage of lithium metal as anode and bipolar stacking by substituting the liquid electrolyte to ceramic based solid electrolytes. However, the low deformability of solid electrolytes inevitably leads to inhomogeneous contact between the cathode and solid electrolyte, which results in sluggish interfacial charge transfer, and physical degradation, such as contact loss due to the volume change of cathode material induced by reversible Li intercalation. Furthermore, the chemical reaction between cathode and electrolyte has been revealed as fatal to battery degradation due to the narrow electrochemical potential window of solid electrolyte. Here, I suggest research strategy for designing solid electrolyte material having clay-like viscoelasticity which is beneficial for intimate contact with cathode material including diagnosis tool for quantitative understanding on chemical interfacial reaction.
