Bioinspired, highly conformable, water-drainable adhesive patch for under water surface and skin |
초록 |
Alternative strategies inspired by nature creatures living in wet environments have been explored such as mussel-mimetic polymers, slug-inspired secretion, insect-like secretion, and octopi suction-cup. The hexagonal micro-channels in the tree frog is known to have the capability of high adhesion forces on the wet surfaces due to the conformal contacts against rough surfaces and drainable micro channels. Here, we report a bio-inspired adhesive patch with the suction cup of octopi and the hexagonal structure of tree frogs. With a structural model analyzing changes of peeling energy, we created the hierarchical structure by using simple molding techniques. We presented that the patches have high, reversible adhesion in peeling and normal directions due to suction effects and conformal contacts on the various surfaces. Therefore, the conformal, flow-resistive and reversible architectures can be applied in versatile devices such as medical patches and skin-attachable electronics. |
