There is considerable interest for the development of polymer-inorganic nanocomposites to improve physical and chemical characteristics of multifunctional materials. Hydrotalcite-like, layered double hydroxide [Mg4Al2(OH)12]CO3nH2O (LDH) is anionic clay . To balance the positive charge in the layers, anions are located between the layers that were originally occupied by water molecules. In this work, we prepared polyimide/hydrotalcite hybrids by anionic exchange reactions. LDH was modified for anion exchange reaction. Prepared modified layered double hydroxide(LDH) is mixed with various polyimides and then polyimide/modified clay hybrid nanocomposites were prepared. To confirm the intercalation, we measured wide angle x-ray diffraction(WAXD) and characterized with infra-red(IR), thermogravimetric analysis, and so on. |
