제목 Synthesis of nanometer-scale DNA-silica hybrid materials
초록 Biomolecules have been extensively studied as building blocks for the generation of controlled nanostructure made of a variety of materials. For instance, DNA, which has been known as carrier containing genetic information, would satisfy the criteria to be a building block containing catalytic effect for the formation of nanostructures due to chemical structures of nucleotides (adenine, guanine, cytosine, thymine). We synthesized oligonucleotides composed of a type of nucleotide, and revealing that guanine proved to catalyze silicification most efficiently in aqueous media among four types of nucleotides. From this result, the morphology control of DNA-silica hybrid materials was achieved using various oligonucleotides containing guanine rich domain.
