Linearly and highly pressure-sensitive electronic skin based on a bio-inspired hierarchical structural array |
초록 |
Most of pressure sensors in previous studies did not exhibit linear sensitivity over a sufficiently large pressure range. Considering that a nonlinear relationship between sensor output and applied pressure requires additional signal processing, the narrow linear-sensitive range limits practical use of the previous pressure sensor devices. In this study, we report the use of a novel hierarchical elastomeric structure to fabricate a piezo-resistive pressure sensor that was shown both to display a linear output response and to be highly sensitive (8.5 kPa-1) in gentle pressure regime. In addition, by employing monolayer graphene as the conductive layer, the sensor can be placed onto a target position precisely when applied to a health-monitoring device. We believe that our study will contribute effectually toward the development of advanced pressure sensors that have various applications including wearable bio-monitoring devices and touch screens for flexible and transparent displays. |
