Because of topological peculiarity, cyclic polymers show distinct properties relative to linear polymers. Typically cyclic polymers are prepared by end-linking of linear precursors and it is possible to obtain the same molar mass counterparts to compare the properties of cyclic polymers with linear ones. The HPLC retention of polymer depends on the relative size of a polymer chain to the pore size(R/d) and interaction strength of the polymer chain with the stationary phase of the column. In this study, we investigated the retention behavior of cyclic polymer vs. linear polymer at the 3 different seperation modes of HPLC. |
