제목 정적방법에 의한 활성탄에서 VOCs의 흡착에 관한 연구
초록 VOCs(volatile organic compounds) are known to generate ozone by the reaction with NOx in the atmosphere through a photochemical pathway, which causes the smog. Therefore many process study for removal of VOCs is being gone. Adsorption technology is preferable for the recovery of industrial solvent and energy economy, but research data for practical activity not to be enough.
In this study, adsorption characteristics of benzene and toluene which are principal VOCs were studied. Activated Carbon 12∼20mesh and 20∼40mesh were used as adsorbents. Experiments were carried out to investigate effects of adsorbates, adsorbent properties and temperatures. The experimental data were applied to Langmuir equation and Toth equation and the adsorption amount at any pressure could be predicted. Temperature dependency of Langmuir equation parameters were obtained. Adsorption constants is concerned with heat of adsorption and parameter values were obtained.
