제목 | Annealing dependence of magneto-optical properties of bismuth substituted yttrium iron garnet films prepared through modified metal-organic decomposition method |
초록 | Annealing effect on the magneto-optical properties of bismuth substituted yttrium iron garnet (Bi-YIG) thin films on glass and (111) oriented Gadolinium Gallium Garnet (GGG) substrates fabricated by metal-organic decomposition (MOD) method have been investigated. We modified the previous MOD method by skip the pre-annealing process and did the annealing at different temperatures to deduce the phase temperature for Bi-YIG and then annealed with different heating rates at that temperature.. The film annealed for 1h at 750°C with the heating rate of 30°C per minute on GGG gets the high crystallization with fine grains. And the measured Faraday rotation for this film was about –10.5°/μm. It was found that the rate of heating for annealing process is the key to enhance the magneto optical properties owed to improved crystallinity and high saturation magnetization. Bi-YIG thin films prepared by this prescribed MOD method has high magneto-optical performance and were potential candidates for the application of optical devices. |
