Gemini surfactants have attracted a lot of attention due to their characteristics such as superior interfacial activity, low CMC, mildness and high flexibility. We studied characteristics of emulsions using gemini surfactant mixture, CERALUTION H(behenyl alcohol, glyceryl stearate, glyceryl stearate citrate, sodium dicocoylethylenediamine PEG-15 sulfate) existing as liquid crystalline lamellar gel network with various oils. We confirmed that they are coexisting with vesicles, bilayer disks as 1㎛ and 10㎛, have not effect on pH or salt in polar and nonpolar oil. when a ceramide was used in these system, it formed stable emulsion and reduced skin's transepidermal water loss. |
