초록 | Surfactant has been used as an additive to increase the water solubility and biodegradation rate of nonpolar compounds in contaminated soil. Enhancing theperformance of surfactant in soil bioremediation has been attempted by adding thecosolvent (paraffin oil) and by the use of biosurfactant (sophorolipid), respectively.Stabilization of paraffin oil emulsion by nonionic surfactant increased phenanthrenemobilization and biodegradation rates 5 folds, respectively, from the contaminated soil inthe coulmn experiment. Effectiveness of sopholipid biosurfactant for biodegradation ofpristane, hexadecane and 2-methyl naphthalene was compared with commerciallyavailable surfactants. |
