Release Profile of Dexamethasone using Thermo-Sensitive Hydrogels |

We synthesized the diblock copolymers consisting of methoxy poly(ethyleneglycol) (MPEG) (Mn=750 g/mole) and poly(ε-caprolactone) (PCL) by ring opening polymerization of ε-CL with MPEG as an initiator in the presence of HCl․Et2O. The temperature sensitive behavior of MPEG-PCL diblock copolymer was examined in aqueous. The formed sol became gel at 37 oC as the temperature increased. On further increase of the temperature, the gel changed to sol at 52 oC. This indicates the diblock copolymer solutions at room temperature can form gel at body temperature. MPEG-PCL diblock copolymers solution included Dexamethasone was analysized by HPLC. The release profile of dexamethasone in MPEG-PCL gel showed the initial burst release for 3 days. In conclusion, we confirmed that MPEG-PCL diblock copolymer solutions is useful release of dexamethasone. Acknowledgement : This study was supported by KMOICE (N11-A08-1402-05-1-3) |
