Articular cartilage repair remains a challenge to surgeons and basic scientists. Poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)(PLGA) has been widely applied to tissue engineering as good biocompatible and biodegradable synthetic polymer with acceptable mechanical strength. The porcine small intestinal submucosa(SIS) has been widely used as a biomaterial without immuno rejection responses. We fabricated SIS/PLGA scaffold using 0, 10, 20, 40 and 80wt% of SIS. Costal Cartilage Cells(CCs) were seeded on SIS/PLGA scaffold and confirmed the influence of adhesion and proliferation according to content of SIS. Cell proliferation and viability were measured via MTT assay. Morphology of cells adhesion was observed by SEM. In this study, we confirmed SIS/PLGA scaffold including 20wt% of SIS disturb adhesion and proliferation of CCs. In scaffold containing 20wt% of SIS provide suitable environment for growth and proliferation of CCs. This research was supported by WCU(R31-20029) and MBC(0405-BO01-0204-0006). |
