Lithium ion batteries (LIBs) have been widely used in portable electronic device due to their properties such as a high density, long cycle life, no memory effect, environmentally benign nature. As an anode material, titanium dioxide (TiO2) has been considerably attracted for LIBs because of its structural stability, abundance, and good cycle life. However, it has a wide bandgap energy of 3.0-3.2 eV, which results in a poor electronic conductivity and rate capability. In this study, we synthesize reduced TiO2 (TiO2-x) using a solvothermal reaction. This material has oxygen vacancy and Ti3+ that facilitate better electronic conductivity. We prove that the TiO2-x material shows the enhanced electrochemical behaviors in LIBs. |
