| 제목 | 2-Cyclohexyliminobenzoato Ni(II) complex: A highly active catalyst for polymerization of ethylene |
| 초록 | Reacton of 2-(cyclohexylimino)benzoic acid (1) and (η3-methallyl)nickel chloride gives a nickel (II) complex of [(2-cyclohexylimino)benzoato-κ2N:O] (η3-methallyl)nickel(II) (2). Addition of B(C6F5)3 to 2 in benzene affords a zwitterionic complex of 2-(cyclohexylimino)benzoate, [(C6H10)NC6H4C(OB(C6F5)3)O-κ2N,O]Ni(η3-CH2CCH3CH2)(II) (3). The structures of 2 and 3 are confirmed by x-ray crystallography. It is well-known that the bulkier substituents on the ligand to block the axial faces of the metal center are essential for the similar type catalysts to obtain high molecular weight polyethylene. Though the axial faces of the metal center are not blocked, Complex 3 shows high activity for the polymerization of ethylene. |
