제목 Grafting of polystyrene or poly(ethylene oxide) onto ethylene–propylene–diene terpolymer (EPDM) for polar functional modification
초록 Polar functional modification of ethylene–propylene–diene terpolymer (EPDM) through a grafting of polystyrene or poly(ethylene oxide) onto EPDM was attempted. Polystyrene was firstly prepared through a reversible addition and fragmentation chain transfer technique, followed by a grafting reaction onto EPDM. The preparation of EPDM-graft-poly(ethylene oxide) was also attempted through the reaction between maleated EPDM and amine terminated poly(ethylene oxide). The characteristics and applications of the resulting EPDMs were investigated, including an application as additives in EPDM blends.
