The polymeric nanofibrous scaffolds have high specific areas and porosity. However, they sometimes lack mechanical properties. It is introduced effective method providing excellent materials for polymer blending. The poly ε-caprolactone(PCL) nanofibers including titanium dioxide(TiO2) nanopowder were fabricated by using an electrospinning technology. The pure PCL scaffold relatively showed a soft characteristic with the low tensile strength. The size of PCL and PCL/TiO2 composite fibers, as estimated from scanning electron microscope(SEM) images. The presence of TiO2 nanopowder in PCL was investigated by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS). A viscosity and the tensile strength of PCL/TiO2 solution increased with adding TiO2 concentration. Such an enhanced strength and surface roughness of PCL/TiO2 nanofibers mean resistance to the outside that could avoid surface damage. As a result, it would be beneficial for applications. |
