The nano-sized polymer micelle has been widely used as an intravenous drug delivery system. However, conventional self-assembled micelle structures tend to be collapsed by dilution at body fluid and interaction with blood components. The mineralization of polymer micelles is recognized as an effective approach to enhance the micellar stability. In this study, we have adopted shell-specific drug-loaded core-shell-corona polymer micelles for tumor therapy. We obtained the properties of mineralized nanoparticles by dynamic light scattering (DLS), and supported by transmission electron microscope (TEM). The mineralized shell layer can suppress drug release efficiently at extracellular pH condition (7.4) but dissolve in tumor pH condition (6.8) to facilitate the drug release. |
