제목 Photooxidation mechanism of PTB7 Revealed by Infrared and X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy
초록 Recently power conversion efficiencies of Polymer solar cells(PSCs) have reached exceeding 8%. However, their long-term stability is still a remaining issue, especially due to the photooxidation of low-cost low band gap (LBG) polymers. In this work, we investigated the photooxidation of PTB7 that is a representative high performance polymer in PSCs as a function of 1 sun illumination period in air. To study the photooxidation we employed multiple tools of UV-Vis absorption spectroscopy, UPS, infrared spectroscopy and XPS. We observed that formation of carbonyl and sulfone groups gradually increased as the light exposure time lengthened. Moreover, density function theory-calculations allow us to specify photodegraded positions; the degradation of benzene ring moietis in the PTB7 backbone are mainly responsible for the photodegradation and sulfur atoms in the thiophene rings participate partly in the photodegradation.
