Effect of pH on staphylococcal biofilm formation and toxin production |
| 초록 |
One of the essential environmental factors, pH, may take a key role in a certain situation such as human body. It is also important in interspecies competition in the human microbiome. We studied the effect of pH on the biofilm formation as well as toxin production during the culture of Staphylococcus aureus. Both virulence factors were related to the bacterial growth according to pH. We expect our result will be helpful in the fields of staphylococcal pathogenesis as well as microbiome research. |
