Silicon nanoparticles(50nm) were dispersed in water in the presence of poly(N-vinylpyrrolidone), and coated by polypyrrole via in-situ polymerization of pyrrole with FeCl3. The zeta potentials of the modified silicon particles were similar to that of pure polypyrrole, indicating that the silicon particles were successfully coated with polypyrrole under the conditions. The surface morphology of the particles were examined by the SEM and TEM images, which also confirmed that the coating process was successful. The as-prepared samples showed electrochemical behaviors superior to the uncoated silicon particles. |
