Polymeric micelles are well known nano-size delivery systems formed through self-assembly of amphiphilic block copolymers in an aqueous condition. These micelle structures have several advantages for drug delivery such as their stealth properties induced by the hydrophilic segment on the shell of micelle, capacity for encapsulation of hydrophobic drugs offered by the hydrophobic core. Because of these properties of micelle, it has received much attention for drug delivery carrier. In spite of their distinct advantage, polymeric micelles are not stable enough in the blood and are dissociated upon dilution. By the reason of these problems, development of stable micelle is a hot topic to the scientists. In this study, we have prepared a stable micelle based on ionic fixation for overcoming the problem of polymeric micelle delivery system and investigated their potential applications as a pharmaceutical drug carrier for cancer therapy. |
