Photocatalytic and antibacterial fly ash doped TiO2(FA/TiO2) composite nanofibers were fabricated by one pot electrospinning and calcination method. Several analytical techniques, like scanning electrion microscopy(SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM), X-ray diffraction(XRD), and photoluminescence spectroscopy(PL) were used to characterize the resulting FA/TiO2 nanocomposites fibers. The enhanced photocatalytic and antibacterial perfomance of the developed FA/TiO2 nanocomposite fibers can be attributed to the photocatalytic and adsorption characteristic of TiO2 and FA respectively. Results indicated that as-synthesized composite nanofibers will be an economically and environmentally friendly photocatalyst. |
