The effects of metal sub-electrode on the large-area organic solar cells |

It is well known that the low series resistance in organic solar cell devices is required to achieve an ideal device performance and large area realization. The organic solar cells have been fabricated on the ITO electrode due to its low sheet resistance and high transmittance in visible region. However, to realize the large area application in organic solar cell device based on the ITO electrode, it is necessary to apply the highly conductive sub-electrodes for effective hole collection from active layer. Until now, characteristics of organic solar cell fabricated on the various metal sub-electrodes assisted TCO electrodes and their effects were not investigated in details. In this work, we study the J-V effects of various metal sub-electrode on large-area organic solar cells. Organic solar cells fabricated on the metal sub-electrode assisted transparent conducting oxide thin film show higher power conversion efficiency, due to reduced series resistance in organic solar cell devices. |
