제목 Synthesis and characterization of sulfonated poly(arylene ether)s containing fluorenyl groups for fuel cell applications.
초록 Sulfonated poly(arylene ether) block copolymers containing bulky side chain were prepared in an effort to substitute aromatic hydrocarbon polymers for perfluorinated polymers. The unsulfonated block copolymers bearing fluorenyl groups were synthesized via aromatic nucleophilic polycondensation reaction. Sulfonic acid groups were introduced to the fluorenyl groups attached to the main chain of the block copolymers, by means of post-sulfonation method so as to give hydrophilicity to the hydrophobic unsulfonated polymers. Synthesized polymers and sulfonated polymers were characterized by 1H NMR. Thermal stability, water-uptake, ion exchange capacity and electrochemical properties of prepared membranes were also examined.
