제목 Separation of Yttrium and Terbium by Solvent Extraction Using Fatty Acid as an Extractant
초록 Solvent extraction is the method to separate compounds based on their relative solubilities in two different immiscible liquids, usually water and an organic solvent. Yttrium and terbium are important owing to their unique properties in various fields such as electronics, magnetism, catalysts, glass, laser, etc. The separation of yttrium and terbium using fatty acid solution in kerosene has been studied from sulfate medium. Experiment conditions, including the pH of the extracted solution and the changes in carbon chain length of the extractants were investigated in order to achieve a selective extraction.
