제목 High performance PEMFC MEA with a low Pt loading prepared by electrostatic spray deposition.
초록 Photon exchange membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs) are most promising energy conversion device for the future. PEMFC must be capable of operating at a high power density with a low platinum loading to reduce its production cost for commercialization. In this research, using electrostatic spray deposition (ESD) method to reduce platinum loading. ESD is a process that an aerosol of a solution is ejected from metal syringe nozzle with a high applied voltage to a thin film on the counter electrode. The solution consists of Nafion solution, Pt/C (Platinum on carbon black) and various solvents. . The catalyst surface morphology was analyzed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image, the cathode electrochemical property and cell performance were measured by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy (EIS) and IV-curve. The catalyst layer made by ESD has a fractal surface morphology. These results substantially improve the performances.
