Lignocellulosic biomass is considered as a pro-environmental and replaceable energy resource for petroleum. However, the process producing only biofuel is unfavorable compared with fossil fuel process in economics. Thus, coproduction of biofuel and biochemical are applied to biofuel process to break through obstacle. Additionally, the case study about the effects of high byproduct income (Startegy A) and high carbon efficiency (Strategy B) is performed via techno-economic analysis and life cycle assessment. For techno-economic analysis, MSP is calculated $2.71/GGE and $3.46/GGE for strategies A and B, respectively. Environmental impact for climate change is estimated the higher in Strategy A than in Strategy B, while, for fossil depletion, Strategy A has the lower environmental impact than Strategy B. These results guide the points of process development at the viewpoints of economics and environment. |
