Biodegradable polyester has recieved much attention with the rise of concern to global environment in recent years. It is well known that synthetic polyester such as poly(butylene succinate) (PBS), show excellent biodegradability and many researches are going on. First of all, how to dispose of wasted plastic material is now a big problem. the most important technique for producing biodegradable foam is improving melt strength. To elevate melt strength, branching between polymers should be the most suitable method. In this study we produced branched polymers by using different branching agents. Three kinds of branching agents were prepared, fumed silica(Si-OH), fumed silica coupled with trietoxy-3-ureidopropyl silane, and fumed silica coupled with 3-amino propyltrietoxysilane. PBS-silica composites with different silica contents were accomplished by using haake mini extruder. properties of PBS-silica composites were analyzed with thermal analysis and FT-IR. |
