In this investigation, we developed a method to prepare a biodegradable PCL-PLGA scaffold as a drug (safflower seed extract, SSE) carrier. Prior to 3D analysis, we first carried out 2D analysis on proliferation, ALP activity, AR-S staining. The physical properties of scaffold were carried out using various experimental analyses. Surface of the SSE-CaP coated scaffold was analyzed using SEM and EDX. Physical properties such as porosity and degradation were examined. Cellular responses to the scaffold such as proliferation and differentiation were quantified. Results clearly indicate that the SSE-CaP coated scaffolds displayed biologically and physically favorable properties and functions. At the same time, the SSE components significantly increased both proliferation and differentiation of osteoblast. |
