Flexible piezoelectric nanogenerators(PNGs) that convert mechanical energy from human activities such as pressure, bending, stretching motions into electrical energy are very promising candidate to realize the sustainable energy sources for low power-consumption devices. Here, we report a flexible PNGs based on microstructured piezoelectric composites. Piezoelectric composites were prepared by dispersing piezoelectric particles in a polymer matrix. Afterward, the nanocomposite was microstructured by micromolding process. Our microstructure-based PNGs exhibit enhanced output performance compared to film-based PNGs without microstructure. Under periodically mechanical deformations, we optimized the output performance of microstructure-based PNGs as a function of concentration of composite, aspect ratio of pillar, and strain rate. Our proposed approach is an extraordinary improvement in the composite-based PNGs research for self-powered flexible energy source to realize the wearable electronics and sensors. |
