Graphenes can be produced effectively in bulk quantities via rapid heating of highly oxidized graphite oxide (GO), because GO is thermally reduced and exfoliated under inert gas and high temperature conditions. These sheets are referred to as functionalized graphene sheets (FGSs), because some oxygen-containing functional groups, such as hydroxyl or epoxy groups, persist even after thermal reduction. Conjugated polymers, such as poly(arylenevinylene) or poly(aryleneethynylene), are used to solubilize single wall carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) because of their ability to strongly adsorb on SWNTs by π-π interactions. However, to the best of our knowledge, there is no paper which describes the interactions between graphene and conjugated polymers and on polymer nanocomposites prepared with graphene noncovalently modified by a conjugated polymer. |
