제목 Synthesis and Characterization of Near IR-emitting CIS/ZnS Quantum Dots for Bio-imaging Applications
초록 CuInS2/ZnS quantum dots (CIS/ZnS QDs) have gotten great interests of not only its great optical properties, but also its less toxicity due to non heavy metal content. We synthesize CIS/ZnS quantum dots with a high quantum yield at various emission spectra from visible to NIR region (570-730 nm). The initial Cu/In ratio of the CIS core is changed from 1/4 to 2/1 to control the emission spectrum. The CIS/ZnS QDs are transferred from dichloromethane to an aqueous solution via an emulsification technique with thiol-functionalized six-armed polyethylene glycol (PEG). The multi-armed PEG-coated QD/PEG nanocapsules show excellent dispersion stability in deionized water and exhibit high luminescence efficiency. Preliminary in vitro studies also show that the NIR CIS/ZnS QDs is more suitable for deep tissue imaging as compared to visible light emitting QDs.
