Lignin based carbon / Organo-modified Montmorillonite hybrid reinforcement for Polylactic acid. |
초록 |
Lignin, the major by-product of pulp industries, is one of the most abundant natural materials. It is also considered as a great carbon source having rich carbonic structures in its inherent chemical structure. Nanoclay is also easily found in the nature and it is commonly used as fillers in polymer matrices for its excellent barrier effects and structural advantages. In this study, Carbonized and ball-milled kraft lignin and organo-modified montmorillonite nanoclays are used as hybrid fillers being expected to show synergistic reinforcements in Polylactic acid(PLA). The hybridization of these two materials was successfully achieved in the PLA matrix by melt-compounding. The composite was characterized by XRD analysis and electro-microscopy. The results showed that the mechanical and thermal properties of PLA could be enhanced by these hybridized fillers dispersed in its matrix. |
