Development of a continuous reactor system for lignin liquefaction and deoxygenation reactions |
초록 |
Lignin is generated as a byproduct in pulping process and cellulosic ethanol production process. Recently lignin receives much attention as a source for the production of fuels or value-added chemicals. Lignin is basically solid material and should be converted to liquid phase to obtain those valuable products. In this work, a continuous reactor system was developed for the production of liquid-phase biofuel with high heating value from concentrated lignin in supercritical ethanol. The system consists of a syringe-type slurry feeder and a reactor for both liquefaction and consecutive deoxygenation reactions operating at 300bar and 350oC. A catalyst of Mg-Ni-Mo supported on activated charcoal was employed for deoxygenation reaction of liquefied lignin. This reactor system allowed the production of liquid biofuel with a HHV of 34.8 MJ/kg and an O/C ratio of 0.11 from 25 wt% lignin in ethanol. |
